Tuesday, December 5, 2006.

The meeting was called to order at 6:45 PM with 6 members present.

There were no minutes read as the secretary was absent.

The treasurer's report was given. The treasurer had checked on the interest rates on CD's as she had been asked to do at an earlier meeting. It was decided to wait until the next meeting when more members would be present to decided on whether or not to invest some of our money to earn interest.

There was more discussion on the kiosk that the Ohio Scenic Byways Commission wanted us to provide $1,000.00 toward the cost. The president had been in communication with the Commission and presented them with wording that would be more acceptable than what they had. They had sent him a letter with some minor wording change. The matter was tabled again until the next meeting in February.

A motion was made and seconded to give the Genealogy Room librarian a Christmas bonus. Motion carried.

There was a book that the Genealogy Room wanted us to purchase - Huntingburg, Dubois Co., IN Index to Deaths 1887-1926. A motion was made and seconded to purchase the book. Motion carried.

Bob Ramsbottom from Perry County had contacted the president to see if he or the library had any information on Huffman Mill. An earlier check of the files showed that there was not a folder with information on Huffman Mill. The president had several articles that he was going to copy to be put in a folder in the Genealogy Room.

It was mentioned that we needed to be thinking about the selection of Historian of the Year. It was decided that we would discuss this at our next meeting.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 6:30 PM in the Genealogy Room.
