Spencer County Historical Society

Meeting Notes

April 20, 2004

The vice-president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

There were 13 members present.

The minutes and treasurer's report were given.

Discussion of the Banquet took place. Set up for the program at the Chrisney Community Center will be May 1, at 10:00 AM.

Kathy Tretter will be the speaker for the Banquet on May 1, 2004. Her topic will be the "Keith Murder". Charles Feigel will be recognized as the Historian of the Year and Lucille Richards will be given the Commemorative Award.

A review of the Charles Brame program was conducted. Everything went well except for the sound. Members discussed how to spend the proceeds from the program. One suggestion was to make a donation to the Lincoln Pioneer Village and another was to purchase signs/markers for the Old Rockport Pioneer Cemetery and Rockport Collegiate Institute (Rockport High School).

A report on Boner Bridge was given. It appears Warrick County will proceed with a less intrusive method of restoring the bridge.

The next meeting will be June 1, 2004 at 7:00 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
